The ledger would provide tangible evidence to back up Jimmy's story but will the media listen? Certainly not now with the state of the press these days, but it would provide validity to the story for those who believe Jimmy to use down the line.

I never quite understood the logic of planting the "real" assassin (Cesar) behind RFK and in the direct line of fire of the "patsy" assassin (Sirhan)!!! Why not just have Cesar shoot RFK at the moment Sirhan steps out to shoot off a few blanks and blame it on him that way instead...

As John Hughes said in the 'I Killed JFK' documentary, the Kennedy family probably knows that reopening the case would reveal just how despised JFK was by so many groups (mob, CIA, FBI, Cuban-Americans, etc) and that he wasn't as universally loved as the whole "Camelot" myth has portrayed.

I believe I saw somewhere that this whole deal about the shell casings being late 60s or early 70s was found to be false and in fact traced to someone trying to sabotage James Files' story. I'll dig around for it.
