Files claims he dropped off Roselli and Nicoletti at a gas station...I remember reading that Tippit was waiting at a gas station before he left to go to Oak Cliff...does any one know any more about this?

In the 2003 confession Files says, that he dropped Roselli and Nicoletti there and saw them walking over the parking lot towards another car. He pronounces that he did not see which other car this was. Strange! Why would Files not bring his people directly in front of this other car?

The witnesses who saw Tippet in the garage, said he was sitting there and drove off at high speed towards Oak Cliff.

It is my belief that Tippit was lured to Oak Cliff by a good friend of his, Carl Amos Mather. Mather worked for Collins Radio, a CIA contractor. Mather may or may not have known what Tippit's fate was to be and what purpose his murder was supposed to serve. Many witnesses to the murder described a man who looked very much like Oswald, but the real Oswald could not have traveled to 10th and Patton from 1026 Beckley in time. Later, after the arrest of the real Oswald at the Texas Theatre, an Oswald lookalike was seen acting suspiciously in a red 1961 Falcon parked across from Mack Pate's auto garage about six blocks north of the Texas Theatre. One of Pate's mechanics approached the Falcon and wrote down its license plate: PP4537, a plate registered to a car owned by Carl Amos Mather.Mather did high-security communications work for Collins/CIA. On November 1, 1963, the New York Times reported that Collins Radio had deployed a raider ship in an espionage and sabotage mission against Cuba, on behalf of the CIA. Tippit was sent to Oak Cliff in the DPD recordings "in case anything comes up". look into Wade's safe to see the Ruby, Tippit connection!
