I have that book-can't check it at the moment,but I believe there is a picture of the register with Davis' signature, in the book's photo section! I'll check itand post back.

Yes,there is an actual photo of the register of the LaSalle Hotel in New Orleanswith the name "T.E. Davis" on it. He was registered on Aug.8-9,1963. Hurt claimed therewas no evidence to confirm it was Thomas Eli Davis,however. (I'm thinking it was).
