It really freaked me out to see
that James says that Lansdale
visited him, but in his Jan. 30,1995
interview with Bob Vernon, he
specifically denied that he saw
Lansdale that day when asked.
Why did he decide to reveal it
in '06, I wonder? Is there anything
else he has revealed, Wim?

Ah Brian, now that's a good question. At that time he was still afraid to implicate the CIA. On his voice stress analysis test the needle hits the sky when he talkes about David Phillips.

JF- That is only the government! The mob knows a lot of things, they’ve got ways to get things done, but when it comes to this kind of stuff, that’s out of their category. I wanna tell that when it comes to the government and underhanded work , the mob, they are kindergarten. They are kindergarten! I might upset a lot of people in the family saying that, but they are kindergarten when it comes to working with the government. They are the goldfish in the shark’s pond.

He thinks it may have been a backup plan in case the Oswald plan went wrong. They could have blown up the car and then the remains of three known mafia hitmen would have been found. Maybe worse than Oswald, but still plausibe denial. That is why Chauncey always felt as duped as Oswald, and that is why he gets tears in his eyes when he talkes about Oswald.Would the 3 tramps really have blown up themselves?
