People who talk about what the Turks are doing to the Kurds should realize we did much, much worse to the Iraqi's, the Afghans, and the Vietnamese. Civilian casualties in a war is basically a given because in any war, civilian casualties always outnumber combatant casualties.There is nothing much of economic value to keep us involved in the middle east. "In 2018, U.S. net imports (imports minus exports) of petroleum from foreign countries averaged about 2.34 million barrels per day, equal to about 11% of U.S. petroleum consumption. This was the lowest percentage since 1957." Even if many of the countries become islamic states, the people will eventually evolve into modern capitalists like they did in Russia and China.

OK. Now my head is spinning. A couple of days ago I posted that I agreed with Trump's move to remove our troops from Syria, and I still think it's the right thing, and the only thing Trump has done to date that I agreed with. Now I see he has deployed 1,800 more troops to Saudi to make up for the troops he will remove from Syria. My head is spinning.
