Experimental gun and experimental cartridge made from a necked down .222. Special cartridges and special bullets were used. No telling what stock they were made from or by whom.Great information, Ed. I would love to know if there is a place that has photographic evidence disproving the claim that it couldn't be from before 1971. I find it impossible to believe that Files could have made this story up with a "planted" shell casing made after 1963. I'm sure there is an explanation for the casing markings, but I don't have the hard facts to stand firm on when debating. As I understand it, Remington won't even go on the record as saying the shell casings found were post-1970. They don't know! Maybe some advertisements in an old gun magazine for ammo would prove Files correct.
