Such a sad thing to read about what was a wonderful city. I'm sure parts of Chicago still are as I witnessed last April (2016), but the youth orchestra trip my daughter and I were on didn't exactly tour the parts of town popping with gunshots. I wish we could trade the sounds of violence with the sounds of violins in that great city!

There is no profit in peace There is no profit in Law Enforcement There is a lot of profit in police ticketing speeding seat belts cellphone, yes that's right in every city your looking at Millions even tens of millions in traffic tickets , it is a big business in every city and serious law enforcement matters including shootings have taken a back seat. There is no profit in shootings so they take a backseat to traffic tickets. There is no profit in police enforcing illegal drugs , that is why they are on every street in your city, it's unbelievable that drugs are absolutely everywhere crime is everywhere, shootings are everywhere , yet traffic tickets are number one priority , why ? Because there is profit in traffic tickets, I expect crime and drugs and war will take over the country because police are too busy with the business they have built on doing traffic tickets . I can't imagine what things will be like in 20 years.

Well said Slav, I agree 100 percent! Also don't forget DUI'S, officers in my city sit outside of bars hoping to trap and arrest people coming out of the bar. Instant cash, and they treat them like they robbed a bank or stole a car. Yet every year our homicides continue to rise in our city. Almost all the homicides go unsolved! It will be an interesting next twenty years for sure!
