I hold a lot more hope for computers solving it than a new wave of brilliant researchers. Men are too fallible and tainted by ego; even if they are really good they are rarely believed unless they really marshal top notch information. If he didn't want to take precautions, how was he going to expect others to care enough to prevent it?
