Have other assassins besides James Files been identified?

Post by Giovanni »

James Files was on the Grassy Knoll, Charlie Nicoletti and John Roselli were inside the Dal-Tex building. One of them shot at the president.

Who were the two gunmen inside the School Book Depository?

Was there a gunman firing from the rooftop of the Dallas County Records building? I understand that there was a shell found on the roof back in the '70s. If there was, why haven't I seen photographs of this shell?

This is my conjecture...the two gunmen in the TSBD were David Morales and Richard Cain. On the roof of the Dal-Tex building could have been Luis Posada Carriles.

So, let's see...

James Files was on the grassy knoll. Nicoletti and Roselli were in the Dal-Tex building. Cain and Morales were in the Book Depository. And Carriles was allegedly on the rooftop of the Records building.

That's 5 assassins. 4 behind, 1 in the front.

The Dictaphone Tape has 4 shots recorded on it.

Z193 - Shot 1: Hit JFK in the neck (Book Depository)
Z224 - Shot 2: Hit Connally in the back (Book Depository)
Z313 - Shot 3: Hit JFK in the head (The Grassy Knoll)
Z314 - Shot 4: Missed (Book Depository)

What's has James Files said about the Police Recording containing 4 shots recorded on it?

At the HRSCA acoustical evidence from the DPD dictabelt tape had four shots fired - at 12:30:47.0, 12:30:48.6, 12:30:54.6 and 12:30:55.3.

These timings did not receive 100% acceptance at the time but several years ago it was claimed that the probability of correctness was something like 96%. I might have missed further updates on the acoustical evidence so such advice is welcome.

If we assume the above timings are correct then there was obviously more than one gunman. However, the third shot was deemed to be from the grassy knoll. This contrasts with the claim by Files that his shot from the grassy knoll hit JFK just a fraction of a second after the president's head moved forward due to a hit from the rear.

Z193 - Shot 1: Hit JFK in the neck (Book Depository)
Z224 - Shot 2: Hit Connally in the back (Book Depository)
Z313 - Shot 3: Hit JFK in the head (The Grassy Knoll)
Z314 - Shot 4: Missed (Book Depository)

corrected, not necessarily in order:

Shot : Hit JFK in the back (Book Depository, Daltex or roof County Records)
Shot : Missed, hit the chrome of windshield (Daltex )
Shot : Hit Connally in the back (Book Depository or roof County Records)
Shot : Missed, hit the grass south of Elm St. (Book Depository )
Shot: Hit Connally in the wrist and thigh (Book Depository)
Shot : Missed, made bullethole in windshield (Book Depository or Daltex )
Shot : Missed, hit the curb on Main St. (Daltex )
Shot : Hit JFK in the head (Book Depository or Daltex)
Shot : Hit JFK in the head (The Grassy Knoll)
Shot : Missed, hit the curb on Main St. (Daltex )

Wim, you're wrong on some of them.

Robert Groden's book:

manhole cover (Records building)
limo's windshield chrome (Dal-Tex)
JFK's head/windshield (TSBD)
JFK's head (Grassy Knoll)
JFK's Throat (Grassy Knoll)
JFK's back (Dal-Tex or TSBD)
Connally's back, chest (TSBD)
Connally's wrist/thigh (TSBD)
Main Street curb (Dal-Tex)
Elm St. curb (TSBD)

Groden says 9-13 shots were fired. I say 3 or 4.

The number of shots heard does not by any means give a reliable guide as to how many shots were fired. You have to take into account sub-sonic ammunition, i.e. in lay-terms suppressed or silenced guns. There could have been any number of guns fired but only 3 or 4 shots heard.

Some heard only 2. People like Jackie Kennedy heard only 2 shots. Connally didn't hear the shot that hit him.
